We first recorded this album in 2011. What started out as a demo to send to local record companies turned into a full album, with our old friends Gavin Towsen and Ryan Holmes handling the bulk of the singing and Jon Digby playing drums. This first version included Gavin's "Father" and "Where I Belong" as well as Ryan's "You Lift Me Up" and "To God Almighty'.
However, soon after releasing the album, Gavin and Ryan left the band, and we stopped singing their songs. A few years later, in 2013, we decided to re-release the album, adding some of our new favourites: "To God be the Glory", "God is Good", "How Great Thou Art" and a song written by our friend Darren Flood, "Just For a Moment".
As 2020 approached we found that we wanted to release the album (again!) for two reasons: we were most unhappy with our 2013 recording of "Rock of Ages", which is really our signature song; and we wanted to replace Don Moen's "God is Good" with our rock-blues arrangement of the classic hymn "Battle Hymn of the Republic". Plus after Luke's years working in studios we thought we could get the mixes sounding a littler better... Hence the 2020 edition!
Whichever version you have, our hope is the same: that the songs bring you closer to our amazing God and Saviour.
Luke Powell - keyboards, lead vocals, mixing, mastering
Richard Pratt - guitars, lead vocals on "A Picture of Your Love" and "Come Unto Me"
Richard Powell - bass guitar
Jon Digby - drums and percussion

Words by Augustus Toplady, music by Richard Pratt
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee;
let the water and the blood,
from thy wounded side which flowed,
be of sin the double cure;
save from wrath and make me pure.
Not the labours of my hands
can fulfil thy law's commands;
could my zeal no respite know,
could my tears forever flow,
all for sin could not atone;
thou must save, and thou alone.
Rock of ages, rock of ages
Rock of ages, rock of ages
Rock of ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee.
Nothing in my hand I bring,
simply to the cross I cling;
naked, come to thee for dress;
helpless, look to thee for grace;
foul, I to the fountain fly;
wash me, Saviour, or I die.
While I draw this fleeting breath,
when mine eyes shall close in death,
when I soar to worlds unknown,
see thee on thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee
CHORUS
Words by Fanny J. Crosby, music by William Howard Doane, arranged by Luke Powell
To God be the glory, great things He has done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life our redemption to win,
And opened the life-gate that all may go in.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice;
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice;
Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory; great things He has done.
Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
CHORUS
Great things He has taught us, great things He has done
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our rapture when Jesus we see
CHORUS
Words by Julia Ward Howe, arranged by Luke Powell/Richard Pratt
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him; be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.
CHORUS
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His spirit that transfigures you and me;
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free!
While God is marching on.
CHORUS
Words and music by Luke Powell
How many times have I fallen
And come so short of Your glory
Followed my own ways and drifted from You
How many times have I stumbled
Bound by the ropes of my sin
With only Your angels to catch me when I fall
I'm amazed at Your love
Your grace and Your mercy
I'm in awe of Your forgiveness and I thank You again
And though my sins are like scarlet
You've washed me white as snow
And though my hands are like crimson
You've washed me white as wool and let me go
And every one of my sins is cast into the deepest sea
And You've forgiven me
And You'll never remember my sins
Never again
Now I'm afraid of nothing
Cos You are here with me
You're my light and my salvation
Who should I fear?
But I can't help feeling guilty
For the times I've let You down
And Jesus I'm sorry
I've hurt You once again
Won't You show me Your love
Your grace and Your mercy
I don't deserve Your forgiveness but I need it again
CHORUS
How can someone like me talk to someone like You?
I'm poor and I'm weak and I'm nothing like You
But you laid down Your life on that old wooden cross
You paid for my sins and made way for the lost
And You'd do it all again
Just because You love me
More than I can understand
More than I can ever see
CHORUS

Words and music by Richard Pratt
I tried to paint a picture of Your love
But I couldn’t find the colours
And my canvas was too small
The colours of the rainbow aren’t enough
To paint a picture of Your love at all
I tried to write a song about Your love
But the words sounded empty
And the music sounded poor
There’s no music beautiful enough
To paint a picture of Your love at all
Na na na...
I tried to tell someone about Your love
But my words sounded hollow and I was feeling small
Nothing that I say could be enough
To paint a picture of Your love at all
It was only when I reached out with Your love
To dry a tear of sorrow and to help the sick and poor
It was only when I reached out with Your love
That the picture of Your love became clear to all
Na na na...
It was only when I reached out with Your love
That the grace and the mercy, the tenderness and care
The power and the glory of Your love became clear to all
Words and music by Luke Powell
I will sing to the God who rescued me
I will sing to the God who set me free
I will sing to the One who took my place
I will sing to the One who covered me in grace
I will sing to the God who rescued me
I will sing to the God who set me free
I will sing to the One who took my place
I will sing to the One who covered me in grace
Everybody on Your feet come on let’s dance
Get up out of Your seat and clap Your hands
SHOUT the name of Jesus to all the lands tonight
Everybody jump around rip up the floor
Let them hear us all around let them hear us roar
Cos Jesus is the King forever Oh yeah
So I will sing
(repeat)
Words and music by Richard Pratt
My child, I count every breath that you take
I watch your every step and I wait
I hang on every choice that you make
My child, do you know you’re very special to me?
How long must I wait before you see?
How long before your heart will turn to Me?
My child, I watch as you live your life each day
And I long to walk with you along the way
I reach for you but you just turn away
My child, I have a dream especially for you
And there’s nothing that can stop it coming true
Something special that only you can do
Come unto Me
I will break the chains that bind you and set you free
I will lift you up so you can fly with me
I gave everything for you on Calvary
Come unto Me
I knew and loved you before the world began
I love you more than you can understand
I’m always here for you just take my hand
Come unto Me
My child, I see you chasing pretty rainbows every day
When you reach them they just fade away
I see your blue skies slowly turning grey
My child, I watch as all your dreams disappear
I can feel all your hopes turn to fear
The sparkle in your eye has turned to tears
My child, I see you stumble and fall yet again
I see you lying broken in the rain
When you’re hurting you know I feel the pain
My child, do you know that I’m always here for you?
There’s no darkness that I can’t help you through
Just trust in Me and see what I can do
Chorus
Words and music by Carl Boberg; arranged by Luke Powell
O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.
CHORUS
And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on a Cross, my burdens gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.
CHORUS
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"
CHORUS
Words and music by Luke Powell
I got the sinner’s blues
Like getting up on Monday morning
But it’s Saturday night and I still got those sinner’s blues
I don’t know what to do
Every day it’s the same old temptation
And it wastes all my time
And it wastes all my money too
I been all around the world when I only need to look at You
Only You can solve the sinner’s blues
The sinner’s blues… Yeah
I got the sinner’s blues
Like getting up on Monday morning
But it’s Saturday night and I still got those sinner’s blues
I don’t know what to do
Every day it’s the same old temptation
And it wastes all my time
And it wastes all my money too
I been all around the world when I only need to look at You
Only You can solve the sinner’s blues
Oh Lord
Only You can solve the sinner’s blues
Oh Lord
Only You
Can solve the sinner’s blues
Words and music by Luke Powell
Dear God
Here I am in worship once again
I’m having lots of fun with all my friends
Dancin’ around but I forgot about You
Dear God
I sing along with every song that plays
But I don’t even hear the words I say
Cos I’m not even thinking about You
But what’s the point of worship if it’s not about You
And what’s the point of singing empty words
And what’s the point of church if not to glorify You, oh God
It’s all about You, You’re the only reason I’m right here today
And God I love You more than anybody
Cos You’re the only way
I wanna come back to the heart of worship
and honour you in EVERYTHING I do
I surrender to You
Dear God
I’m tired of being a superficial child
I’m tired of giving worship that’s defiled
Cos You are King and You deserve more
Dear God
I wanna sing from deep inside my heart
I wanna worship You with every part of me
Cos You died for me
You hung upon the Cross so that my life could be clean
You love me more than I can understand
You deserve the best of me, I give you my life, oh God
CHORUS
Words and music by Darren Flood
For a moment, just for a moment
Take your eyes off the world
Set your eyes on ME
I too see the pain, I hear the world’s blame
How and why is it’s cry
As you look to the sky
For a moment, just for a moment
Take your eyes off the world
Set your eyes on ME
No matter how far you’ve run
Turn around and see my Son
My love is bigger than your biggest wrong
For a moment, just for a moment
Take your eyes off the world
Set your eyes on ME
Words and music by Luke Powell
The stars are shining brightly in Your sky tonight
Another day is turning into bed
I pull the curtains closed and then turn off the light
It’s time for me to rest my weary head
But every night I get down on my knees and pray
I thank the Lord for his amazing love
I tell him all my problems and then I pray for all my friends
And then I ask the Lord to come down from above
And I say sing me to sleep, O Beautiful One
Sing me to sleep, tonight
Sing me to sleep, wondrous King of all
Sing me to sleep, tonight
Hold me in Your arms O loving Father
I wanna feel Your warm embrace
I wanna see Your glory in my dreams tonight
I wanna gaze upon Your face
CHORUS
Words and music by Richard Pratt
When the wind is blowing I can feel it on my skin
I just can’t see it that’s all
Just like Your love that surrounds me
I can feel it in my heart
I can’t explain it that’s all
When the clouds block the sun I know it’s still there
I just can’t see it that’s all
When it seems like You’re nowhere to be found
You are closer than ever before
You’re always there, when You see me falling
You’re always there, You pick me up again
You’re always there, when You hear me calling
You’re always there, when I need a Friend
When my troubles seem to get the upper hand
You are always there for me
When it seems like the world has won again
I remember Calvary
CHORUS
The ways of this worlds keep getting in the way
Why do I always doubt the promises You make
CHORUS
You’re always there, Your promises abound me
You’re always there, I’ll never be alone
You’re always there, You’ll always be with me
You’re always there, everywhere I go
